A quick update as of 6:15 am today.
USTA Tournament – The USTA tournament is still running as scheduled today (Sunday). Players should check the draws for any player withdrawals. I will update as quickly as I can. Please use good judgement in deciding on traveling or not. Please be safe!
Club Programs – All clinics for Sunday are cancelled. We plan to have the club open, but will not be running our regular junior clinics.
USTA Inclement Weather Rule:
I. Inclement Weather
In the event of inclement weather forecasts, tournaments do not get cancelled, nor do they get rescheduled. In the event of actual inclement weather; each Tournament Director has the sole authority to exercise their discretion to continue their tournament based upon the ability of the facility being open to do so, and each player (parent), has the sole authority to exercise their own discretion as to whether or not it is safe for them to travel to their match. Any matches that are played and any player(s) that are on site and advance due to a withdrawal will be awarded points-per-round reached.
Anyone who lives in Nashua or any of the surrounding towns knows of the Holiday Stroll. It is a great event with food, music, ice sculptures, demonstrations by local clubs and businesses all capped off by the stroll to the Christmas tree and it’s lighting. This year was the 25th anniversary of the Stroll and each year it seems to get bigger and better.
This year Longfellow New Hampshire Tennis & Swim Club took the opportunity to take tennis to the community and let people know of our hidden gem! Over 100 people came to play some tennis with Coaches Charlie, Myles, Scott, KC and Maria! All who participated received a prize and raffles and give-aways added to the excitement. As strollers walked down Main Street they could feel the excitement from all of the coaches and staff from Longfellow New Hampshire as they jumped in on the tennis excitement!
If you missed out on the Stroll you need not worry! Come check out the club and sign up for a free 1/2 hour evaluation with one of our coaches. Our winter session classes are beginning soon!
